Folium began with Juvy, who grew up on a farm in the Philippines and has had a lifelong love for plants. From tending vegetables as a child to curating a vibrant orchid collection, she’s always had a gift for growing things.
In 2019, she discovered the world of rare houseplants and began importing unique specimens from around the globe. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into a small business, built on strong roots and word-of-mouth.
Today, Juvy still imports the occasional rare gem, but most of the plants at Folium are lovingly propagated right in her greenhouse in Abbotsford, BC. Every plant is nurtured by hand—no storefront, no big operation—just one woman, her family, a lot of plants, and a growing community of collectors who trust her eye and her care.
Our Expertise
Growing, of course!
Unlike many sellers who only import, most of our plants are propagated in-house from healthy mother plants. It’s a slower process, but it keeps things sustainable and lets us share what we’ve grown ourselves.
Shipping
Our plants have travelled all over Canada and still show up happy. We pack each one carefully and adjust for the weather, like adding heat packs in the winter, so it gets to you safely no matter the season.
Personalization
Most of our sales happen through direct conversations, and we like it that way. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a longtime collector, we’re happy to chat, answer questions, and help you find the right plant.

How can I buy a plant from you?
You can browse our available plants online anytime, but we handle each sale directly. Since plants can vary and availability changes often, we like to confirm details one-on-one before finalizing anything. Just send us a message when you see something you like, and we’ll take it from there.
Do you ship?
Yes! We ship all across Canada and with great success. We charge an additional fee for shipping and can give you an estimate if you’re interested.
How should I care for my little guy?
Plant care can depend on a lot of variables like light levels, airflow, watering habits, and substrate, so it’s hard to give general advice that applies to everyone. If you’re already familiar with the basics, a quick search usually leads to solid care info for your specific plant. But if anything’s unclear or something seems off, feel free to check in with us. We’re always happy to talk shop.
What if I don’t see the plant I want?
Send us a message and we’ll check our stock! If we still don’t have it, we can keep your request in mind if we do ever have the chance to acquire it.
